




About Me
Armand Aromin is an Irish musician who began playing music in his mid-teens, learning from renowned musicians Jimmy Devine (fiddle) and Patrick Hutchinson (uilleann pipes). A native to Rhode Island, Armand moved up to Boston in 2007 to attend Berklee College of Music on scholarship, pursuing a degree in Music Education, but left two and a half years later in pursuit of travel and musical fulfillment in Ireland. Currently, Armand attends the North Bennet Street School where he is studying in the Violin Making & Repair program.
Performance highlights include:
•Fall 2010-2011 :: Contributing composer and featured performer for the pilot episode of Rough Draft by Sean O’Connor and Paul Medico
•May ‘09 :: Performance for the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese
•January ‘08 :: Member of the house band for the BCMFest 2008 Finale Concert
•Summer ‘07 :: Recorded for the Dropkick Murphys album The Meanest of Times
•February - March ‘06 :: Composed and performed the music for the 2nd Story Theatre production of Desire Under the Elms by Eugene O’Neill
More recently, Armand qualified and competed as a finalist for Peadar Ó Riada's 2010 Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal Fiddle Competition at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork, Ireland in January. Armand also placed 1st in Senior Fiddle and 1st in Trios at the Mid-Atlantic Fleadh Cheoil in Pearl River, New York, which allowed him to compete in the All-Ireland Fleadh in Ireland last August.
